Thanksgiving is right around the corner!

Tuesday’s Do: The Cincinnati Observatory presents “Our Galactic Home: The Milky Way” on Tuesday evening, 7-8:30. This is part of their continuing lineup of classes instructed by astronomer Dr. Wes Ryle. Courses are intended for astronomy enthusiasts ages 14 and up. Participants under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

You’ll be sure to “gobble” them up! The Clifton Cultural Arts Center is hosting a Thanksgiving Cookie Class on Saturday, Nov. 16. Tink’s Sweet Shoppe will lead this 1.5-hour class covering the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!). You’ll do some piping with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided in class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron). Registration required.

Taft Museum of Art is hosting a Lunch and Learn: The Art of Cincinnati on Friday, November 22, 12-1pm. Cincinnati Art Museum is the featured speaker. Celebrate Cincinnati’s rich cultural heritage with this presentation of works by Cincinnati artists including John Henry Twachtman, Frank Duveneck, Edward Potthast, Robert Duncanson, the Rookwood Pottery decorators, and more!  This is a free event. Registration required. If you’d like to purchase a box lunch, register by Nov. 15.

Sign up for a Walking Tour hosted by the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. The tour on Nov. 16 is “African American History along the Cincinnati Riverfront” and the tour on Nov. 23 is “Abolitionists and African Americans in Walnut Hills”. Tickets required for both tours.

PLAN AHEAD 📅

11/16 and 11/17: It’s time for the annual Holiday Market at Cincinnati Art Museum, 11am-5pm. Shop from local artists and artisans at this weekend market. And the Art Museum Gift Shop will be stocked with unique art-inspired gifts. Shoppers will enjoy 10% off shop purchases and complimentary gift wrap is included (some exclusions apply).

11/16: Books by the Banks returns! Head to the Main Library (downtown branch) for this regional book festival, 10am-6pm.

11/19 to 12/1: Funny Girl is coming to the Aronoff Center, presented by Broadway in Cincinnati. Tickets now on sale.

12/7: The 35th Annual Lebanon Horse Drawn Carriage Parade is happening at both 1pm and 7pm.

12/7 and 12/8: City Flea will be at Factory 52 (Norwood) for their Holiday Market, 12-4pm both days. They’ll have 50+ vendors and will have new vendors each day. Shop local at this outdoor event.

12/9: Crib of the Nativity, the live nativity scene that’s out in the lawn of the Krohn Conservatory, will be open and ready for visitors, 9am-9pm. Free.

12/11: A Balloon Glow will be happening in Middletown starting at 7pm. Come out and watch some of Southwest Ohio's balloon pilots light up the night sky. Weather dependent.

12/15 and 12/16: Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of “White Christmas” on the big screen at local theaters as part of Fathom’s Big Screen Classics. Tickets now on sale.
