Cincinnati Observatory will be on hand to take you through the Observatory's picturesque past of chasing eclipses with historical images from the Observatory's vast photography collections. Looks like it’s going to be a great night to enjoy the view of the Ohio River there too! The event starts at 5:30pm.

Miami Whitewater Forest is home to December 2nd’s Wreath Hike. Get ready for the holiday season by taking a hike and gathering some wild items to make your own wreath! Tickets are now available for Cincinnati Observatory’s Late Night Date Night, happening on December 2 and again on December 16. You'll get to use telescopes to view astronomical objects that are not visible until late at night (weather permitting). Get a sneak preview of the next season's planets and stars a month or two ahead of everyone else. Adults Only.

Join the Weaver’s Guild of Cincinnati for “Sunset Salons: Fiber Art”. Discover the rich history, techniques, and different styles of fiber art as their experts share their passion for fabric and creativity, then follow their instructions to begin a simple project of your own. The class, held in conjunction with Clifton Cultural Arts Center, will be held at the Weaver Guild’s home on Gray Road, December 5, 6-7:30pm. Tickets required.

The Discovery Pass provides Library cardholders with free passes to arts, cultural, and recreational attractions throughout Hamilton County. Library cardholders may check out passes to:

You can check out a pass online as long as you’re a library card holder in good standing.

Use their online reservation system to view which passes are available and to reserve a pass. Please note - passes are available once every 30 days per customer.

12-1: Cincinnati Nature Center’s Light in the Forest opens for the season.

12-2: Downtown Dazzle is happening at Fountain Square, 6-10pm. This is a free event that includes Santa rappelling from a high rise building and a fireworks display. (Santa program starts at 7pm)

12-2: The 34th Annual Lebanon Horse Drawn Carriage Parade is happening at both 1pm and 7pm.

12-3: MadTree’s Winter Market will feature locally crafted and sourced goods to make your Christmas shopping one little bit easier!

12/5-12/17: Mrs. Doubtfire is coming to the Aronoff Center, presented by Broadway in Cincinnati.

12-8: Crib of the Nativity, the live nativity scene that’s out in the lawn of the Krohn Conservatory, will be open and ready for visitors, 9am-9pm. Free.

12/9-12/10: City Flea will be at Factory 52 (Norwood) for their Holiday Market, 12-4pm both days. They’ll have 50+ vendors and will have new vendors each day. Shop local at this outdoors event.

12-12: A Balloon Glow will be happening in Middletown starting at 7pm. Come out and watch some of Southwest Ohio's balloon pilots light up the night sky. Weather dependent.

Another great local gift idea: Gorman Heritage Farm has a Cutting Garden Subscription program that allows you to cut up to 24 stems from the Cutting Garden once a week. Subscriptions open for 2024 on December 1. Note: the Cutting Garden is only available during warmer months of course!
