Sunday, April 21

Goodnight, Sunday.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Friends, I need to make some changes to the newsletter schedule. I just can’t keep up with the daily newsletter routine. I do LOVE the daily news! But it’s tough to do on a daily basis. Some day I will learn that lesson. 😜

From this point forward, you can watch for a Sunday night email that will be all about the week ahead. And then Thursdays will be your weekend planner. It will basically be the same news but in a less frequent format.

Hope you enjoy it! Feel free to send me suggestions (just hit reply).

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK 💗

There’s a Full Moon Hike happening at Woodland Mound on Tuesday evening starting at 8:30pm. This event is free and starts off at the Seasongood Nature Center. Great Parks requires a Vehicle Permit to enter their parks and it can be purchased at the kiosk as you enter the park.

Broadway in Cincinnati’s SIX The Musical opens this week and runs April 23-May 5. From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power.

Cincinnati Reds will play at home against the Phillies each day this week (Mon-Thurs.). Be sure to check out the 3-2-1 Tuesday special listed in Deals below. Wednesday is “Bark in the Park” and Thursday features “Business Day Specials”.

There’s a Kamayan Dinner event happening outside at Norwood’s Factory 52 on Wednesday. Kamayan is a traditional family style meal where a communal table is covered in banana leaves and piled with heaps of rice, meat, vegetables, and more. Traditionally there is no silverware – you grab and eat everything with your hands. You may find yourself sitting beside a complete stranger, but by the end of the shared dining experience they hope that all of their guests will leave as friends. This event requires tickets and is put on by The Gathera'll’s Gabriela Filipina Kantina and Nice Nice Noodle and Rice.

Tunes and Blooms will be rockin’ at the Cincinnati Zoo on Thursday evening. Scheduled bands for this week include Moonshine Drive and Cecil Jackson & Dry Ridge. Admission to the Cincinnati Zoo is free every Thursday in April (starting at 5pm) for Tunes and Blooms. Parking is $10. The entire zoo is not open for Tunes and Blooms but you will be able to walk around and see some the animals. This event is weather dependent. The music starts at 6pm but you can get into the zoo starting at 5pm.

Looking forward to next weekend? I usually update our Things to Do This Weekend List on Mondays. You can find it on the website (link right above) OR it will come to you via email on Thursday evenings.

There’s a Container Gardening with Native Plants class coming up at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park, April 27. Get hands on experience with container planting as you discover common native garden plants and their benefits to bees, birds, and beyond. Participants will take home a few native plants to get their own gardens started. Tickets required.

There’s a Flower Arrange and Sip event happening on May 21 at Taft’s Brewpourium. Create a beautiful flower arrangement in a Taft's beer can with The Flower Lady! Tickets required.
