SIGN UP ✏️
Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum has an Early Morning Bird Walk coming up and registration opens for the event on Saturday at noon. The actual Bird Walk is on May 4, 7:30-9am. Flock together with fellow bird lovers and expert ornithologist, Jeff Hays, to search for over 200 species that roost and nest at Spring Grove.  This is an excellent outing for families and beginning birders are especially encouraged to attend.  The walk will last about an hour and a half with moderate walking.  Please bring binoculars if you have them.
FRIDAY EVENTS 📆
Head to Woodland Mound and celebrate all things space with their Out of This World event. Walk through the solar system, launch water-powered rockets, explore constellations, and more. Out of This World features both indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. You’ll go star-crazy in the park after dark! This free event happens on Friday and Saturday, 7-9:30pm. If you choose, the planetarium is $2/person and you must register for that part in advance. A valid Motor Vehicle Permit is required to enter all Great Parks.
The Cincinnati Blacksmiths Guild is holding a “Hammer-In”, 6:30-11:45pm. Discover the ancient art of blacksmithing and unleash your creativity as you forge your own project – a keepsake for yourself or a thoughtful gift for loved ones! Doors open at 6:30 p.m., hammering starts @ 7:00 p.m. Last time to sign-up to make an item is 10:30 p.m. Or just come to watch!
SATURDAY EVENTS 📆
Tri-State Warbird Museum is hosting Open Cockpit Days, 1-3pm. Open Cockpit Day gives you the chance to get up close and personal with some of their amazing aircraft. Kids will have the unique opportunity to sit in the cockpits of their T-6 and Parasol. The open cockpit experience is INCLUDED with admission and is free to members. 📸 Open Cockpit Days make for great photo opportunities.
Trammel Fossil Park is home to Saturday’s Geology in the Park, 11am-1pm. Join geology graduate students from the University of Cincinnati and other fossil loving groups and explore the hillside of Trammel Fossil Park. This event is totally free and open to everyone. Prasco Park will celebrate their Opening Day with a weekend of family fun including Saturday’s Adventure Day starting at 4pm. Western Carolina University will take on University of Akron (baseball). Learn more about Prasco Park here.
Enjoy the Maker’s Series: Mosaic at American Sign Museum, 1-4pm. Looking for a sign of what to do with those pretty odds and ends you’ve stuffed in a drawer? Upcycle them! During this Maker Series you will transform broken pieces into a beautiful mosaic piece inspired by the signs in the collection. Materials, including odds and ends, will be provided but you are encouraged to bring jewelry, buttons, shells, broken dishes, and more from your junk drawer. Tickets required.
Take the kids to Parky’s Farm for Barnyard Bonanza: Farmer for an Hour, 10-11am. Learn about some of the things we do to keep the animals at Parky’s Farm happy and healthy. Be ready to get messy and help out with some farm chores. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Best for ages 6-12. Free but registration needed. Creek Week! A Water Adventure in the Woods is taking place at the Kingfisher Trailhead / Winton Woods, 1-2pm. Grab your water shoes and join us as we explore all that Kingfisher Creek has to offer. Try your luck at catching crayfish, find ancient fossils or just have fun playing in a beautiful aquatic habitat. Clothes appropriate for shallow wading recommended, must have appropriate footwear. Reading Parties are going on this weekend at Northwood Cider Co. Bring a book, read an hour, and chat with new book friends over a drink about what you just read. Enjoy curated soft music in the reserved reading area. The RSVP is free and will help them prepare appropriate space. Arrive by 1:30pm, read from 2-3pm, and mingle with fellow readers from 3-4pm. Happens on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Free but you must register.
Art on the Rise in April will celebrate Earth Day, 1-3pm. Join in for community artmaking with recycled materials led by artist SLiNK. Art on the Rise takes center stage on Art Climb, the Cincinnati Art Museum’s hillside sculpture garden and stairway linking the museum campus to Gilbert Avenue. This innovative monthly program, built on community partnerships, brings together live performances and art-making activities—with an abundance of fun for all participants! This is a free event and you can visit the Art Museum before or after this event too! Art on the Rise is weather permitting.
Get a Solar Eclipse Preview with this week’s free Nature Encounter at Burnet Woods Trailside Nature Center, 1-2pm. Join Cincinnati Parks Staff who will be on hand to discuss the science of a total eclipse, what to expect, best viewing spots and safe viewing practices.
SUNDAY EVENTS📆
Fairfield Cars and Coffee kicks off their season with Event #1. They’ll have coffee and donuts sold by State Street Coffee. No admission.
There’s an Eagle Nest Watch happening at Winton Woods, 7-9am. This free drop-in event will allow you to (hopefully) observe the bald eagle pair as they nest for a second year at Winton Lake. Interpreters will be available to answer questions as well as give the history of the current breeding pair of eagles. Parking will be available at the disc golf course and guests can walk down to the Adventure Outpost boat launch for the best viewing opportunities. Cincy Hikes will have a Spring Views and Brews: Ault Park + Hi-Mark Bar event on Sunday starting at 3pm. They will be combing several trails in Ault Park to cover the Great Lawn, Weeping Cherry Tree Grove, Heekin Overlook, and classic Pavilion view of the park (approx 2.5 mi, moderate). After enjoying the outdoors, make the 8 min drive to The Hi-Mark, a cocktail & craft beer bar inside an 1866 house that also serves a yummy assortment of wings and sandwiches.

Take a free Public Tour of the Cincinnati Art Museum, offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. No need to register – meet in the lobby.
Union Terminal Rotunda Tours are offered by Heritage Program docents at Cincinnati Museum Center on Fridays – Sundays. During a 45-minute tour of the 1933 train station, docents explain the architecture, construction and art of one of the finest examples of the Art Deco style. Hear details about the world-famous mosaic murals. These limited capacity public tours are first come, first served and will depend on availability. Tours are free; there is a charge to park.
Rookwood Pottery offers Behind the Scenes Tours of Rookwood on most Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets required.
