Time is flying right on by and we are embarking on Valentine’s Day, the beginning of Lent, and Fish Fry Season this week!

Fish Fry season officially kicks off this Friday. Be sure to check out our LONG and comprehensive list of spots that are hosting a Fish Fry this year. We’ve included details such as menu offerings, addresses, and links for all the Fish Fries we could find in and around Cincinnati. Give it a look!

Highlights For This Week:

Monday, Feb. 12: Ten Thousand Villages (in O’Bryonville) is hosting a Girls Night Out event, “Relaxation Through Crafting”. Learn an enlightening quilled card design and be guided through meditative ink pen drawings. Relax with a sample of herbal teas, hear relaxing music from around the world and indulge in a free hand massage! Registration required.

Tuesday, Feb. 13: Enjoy the Cajun music of Lagniappe on this Fat Tuesday. They’re the featured band at Tuesday’s Music Live at Lunch, Christ Church Cathedral, 12:10-1pm. Music Live at Lunch is a free, weekly concert series featuring a variety of music. Bring your own lunch or buy one at the cathedral.

Wednesday, Feb. 14: Head to the Walnut Hills branch of the Cincinnati Public Library for a special Valentine’s day Minute-to-Win-It round of challenges themed around Valentine’s Day, 4:15-5pm. Registration required.

Thursday, Feb. 15: The Pinball Garage (Hamilton) is hosting a free Galentine’s BINGO Night starting at 7pm.

Mark Your Calendar:

The Harrison branch of the Cincinnati Public Library hosts a “Hooked on Crochet” group meeting once a month on Saturdays. No registration is required and it says it’s for “crochet enthusiasts of all skill levels”.

Say goodbye to winter and hello to spring at Waffles in the Woods, March 9, 9am-noon. Learn the magic and mystery of maple sugaring, taste real maple syrup made at California Woods, and join in for to walk the woods in search of signs of spring. Marty’s Waffles, an award-winning food truck, will be on site serving delicious waffles for purchase. No registration required.

This is the last week to experience the Ice Rink at Fountain Square. The ice rink is set to close for the season on Feb. 19, 2024.

If you’re looking to add a new four legged friend to the mix, you won’t want to miss the My Furry Valentine Mega Adoption Event happening on February 17-18.

Exclusive tours of Cincinnati’s rich brewing heritage will happen over Bockfest weekend (March and 3). Bockfest Weekend Tours will allow access to a historic brewery not normally open to the public and only available through this tour. Tickets required and they usually sell out so don’t delay.

Ever thought about raising chickens? Backyard Chickens is a class being offered at the Harrison Library on Thursday, Feb. 22, 6:30-7:30pm. This class is part of the Harrison Homesteading Program series. Registration is requested but not required.

Krohn Conservatory will host Game Nights (select dates) as part of the spring floral show, “The Shape of Nature”. Each game night will feature a different nature themed board game. Learn to play and play to win! The winners from the night will be entered into a drawing to see who will take that night’s featured game home with them. Registration required. Fee includes 2 slices of pizza, entry to Krohn, and a chance to take home a game.

Great Parks of Hamilton County offering Community Days throughout the year and the next one is Saturday, Feb. 17. The highlight of Community Day is that you can enter any of the parks without a Motor Vehicle pass.

The Cincinnati Home and Garden Show is coming up (Feb. 24+) and Cincy Savers has a “Get 2-for-1 Tickets Deal” on their site today.

Date Night Idea:

Treat your date to a class with Neusole Glassworks. They are celebrating Valentine’s Day with “Flameworked Love Doves” classes all month.
