This week we welcome spring! The March equinox is slated for 11:06 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19 and refers to the time that the sun moves across the Earth's equator, going from south to north, according to EarthSky.

Highlights For This Week:
Monday, March 18: Noah Feldman, the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, a prolific writer, and a leading AI (artificial intelligence) ethicist and tech advisor, will be speaking at the Miami U. Middletown campus, 7-8:30pm. Specializing in artificial intelligence, technology, governance, ethics, and the law, Feldman has spoken to audiences of thousands on stages around the world. Registration required.
Tuesday, March 19: Funky Sunshine is hosting a Spring Equinox Tie Day Party, 4-7pm. Costs start at $25 per shirt. Come with a friend and save!
Wednesday, March 20: Cincinnati Observatory is having an Adult Space Camp: Solar Eclipse Edition, 7-9pm. Sign up for this fun and creative night out where you'll learn about eclipses and make keepsakes for the April 2024 eclipse. Plus, enjoy delicious mocktails and snacks while creating your artwork. The evening will end with a tour of the Observatory and viewing through the telescopes (if clear). The cost is $30 per person and includes supplies for the crafts, Celestial Mocktails, and light bites. Recommended for ages 16+. Registration required.
Thursday, March 21: Neusole Glassworks is offering a Neusole Hummingbird Feeder class. With the help of professional glass artists, you will create your own hummingbird feeder from hot liquid glass. For those 12 years or older. Reservations are required.

Get ready for Opening Day (March 28) with our Opening Day Guide! It contains all the details you might need to plan a fun day including the parade route, parking info, road closures, additional activities, and more.
Be sure to mark off at least a few Thursdays to enjoy Tunes and Blooms at the Cincinnati Zoo, happening on Thursday evenings in April. The Zoo is free for Tunes and Blooms (you will have to pay to park though). Each week features live bands set amongst the incredibly gorgeous spring blossoms at the Zoo. The entire zoo is not open for Tunes and Blooms but you will be able to walk around and see some the animals.
If you have Hello Kitty fans in the house, this will be a fun one! The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck will be at Kenwood Towne Center on Saturday, June 8, 10am-7pm. Go pick up some “supercute treats and merch, while supplies last”. They’ll be parked near Restoration Hardware.

You can register for the April Twilight Tour at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum this week - registration opens on March 20 at noon. The tour itself is on April 18.
Benken Garden Center is hosting a Spring Porch Workshop on March 23. They have two times available: 10am and 1pm. For this workshop, you'll get to choose from Benken's Famous home-grown annuals to create a seasonal container garden. Registration required.
Cincinnati Parks hosts a Family Eye Spy event at Mt. Airy Arboretum, March 23, 1-2:30pm. Look for signs of spring, different trees, evidence of animals, and more. This is fun event for families with young children is a drop-in program> They ask that you arrive when you like between 1:00 pm and 2:00pm. Allow around 30 minutes for your hunt. The event ends promptly at 2:30 pm. Online registration is required for this event and registration closes on 03/20/24.
Sam Adams Cincinnati Taproom is home to a Beer and Popcorn Tasting on Friday, March 22, 7-8pm. They’ve teamed up with Al’s Delicious Popcorn (located in OTR) to curate a beer and popcorn flight that will excite your mind and your taste buds. $25 includes a flight of four 5oz beers that will be paired with five different flavors of popcorn. Stick around afterwards for a tour of the taproom brewhouse! Must be 21+ and registration required.

Rhea Lana’s giant Children’s Resale Event is coming up (at the Butler Co. Fairgrounds), March 24-28. Tickets required for some days. Some days offer free admission.
The Reds Hall of Fame and Museum offers kids ages 12 and younger free admission, courtesy of the H.C.S. Foundation AND they offer free admission to active military and veterans, courtesy of the Sargent Family Foundation.

My favorite spots include Eden Park (especially next to the Krohn Conservatory) and Ault Park. Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum is gorgeous right now too (pictured below)!
